Voice Service
Verizon Voice Service (VS) provides an essential service that supports customer communications, ranging from basic day-to-day exchanges to critical emergency situations.
- Proven Track Record. Verizon's expertise in providing Voice Service originated with Verizon's Virtual Private Network (Vnet) capabilities in 1988. We have continued to support Voice Services for FTS2001 users.
- Extensive Global Backbone. Verizons global backbone spans six continents, 140 countries, over 2,800 cities and over 4,500 Points of Presence (POPS).
- Intelligence Networks. Verizons networks are strategically engineered to maximize their efficiency and effectiveness over both land and sea. Verizon owns and operates over 98,000 global network route miles, including both terrestrial and undersea cable.
- Rigorous Performance Standards. Verizon keeps abreast of industry standards to ensure performance specifications meet or exceed other carriers published claims. Verizon strives to provide a virtually non-blocking grade-of-service POP-to-POP and around-the-clock network availability, so customers will experience less than one-percent call blockage during the busiest traffic hours.
Verizon VS boasts features that can dramatically simplify customer communications. Here are some specific examples:
- Cost Control. Verizon's Expense Management feature uses accounting codes to track and allocate expenses back to employees, clients, departments and/or jobs, simplifying the overall accounting process.
- Growth Management. The Vnet Switched Voice service runs over a resilient, high speed backbone with extra capacity to evolve as customer communications needs grow. Its SONET-ring protection provides the built-in redundancy and reliability customers demand.
- Increased Efficiency. Verizon Voice Service facilitates employee communication through a variety of Access Options, so employees can connect regardless of their location. These options include direct dial, card, and Toll Free access to both switched and dedicated terminations. In addition, the Network Call Redirect feature eliminates unanswered calls by rerouting them to a prespecified location.
- Comprehensive Global Reach. Verizon's Global Voice VPN feature serves as the international arm of a customers domestic network, providing worldwide access through a robust feature set. This service offers the benefits, network management and competitive product pricing to mid- and large-sized customers who would otherwise have to provision more complex solutions to accommodate their international communications needs.
- Convenient, Flexible Services. FTS2001 customers have enjoyed Verizon Calling Card Services since 1999. These capabilities include directory assistance and fraud detection, providing an additional element of convenience and flexibility to the Voice Services solution set.
