Overview

Private Line Service (PLS) provides dedicated, reliable full-duplex bandwidth for customer-specific data networks and mission critical applications. This service?s wide range of line speeds and reliability options allow customers to meet an array of diverse requirements, including voice, data, video, multimedia, and encrypted communications.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive Portfolio. As a leading provider of facilities-based, local-to-global-to-local services, Verizon offers a comprehensive portfolio of PLS solutions to accommodate virtually any type of application.
  • Extensive Fiber Optic Network. Verizon provides a 100 percent fiber optic metropolitan network enabling customers to transmit different types of data simultaneously across the network. The Verizon global network has the ability to serve customers' requirements with "in country" international telecommunications representatives in over 60 countries around the world, and offers:
    • Low Risk. Because Verizon is currently providing PLS under FTS2001, Verizon has a proven track record that will help ensure that new Networx customers (and those transitioning from FTS2001) will have the solution they need when they need it?and with extremely low risk.
    • Experience. As one of the world?s largest providers of current FTS2001 services, Verizon has both the experience and the capabilities required to deliver PLS.
    • End-to-End Circuit Monitoring. The Verizon PLS solution includes comprehensive monitoring of circuits (T-1 and higher bandwidths) from the Verizon POP. This capability allows Verizon to collect network performance data from the customer facility via the digital cross-connect systems located at the Verizon POP, which is then delivered to centralized servers located at various Network Management Centers.
    • Flexibility: Managed or Bulk Services. The Verizon PLS includes Managed Services (Verizon provides the circuit and the end-point equipment) and Bulk Services (customers will provide their own terminating devices). The result is flexibility that meets the full range of customer needs.
