Extended Ping Tests

The Extended Ping test is a simple ping to the Customer Equipment. This test allows users to ping on four different patterns and different data sizes. This test is available only for Private IP services.

How to perform an Extended Ping Test:

  1. On the Verizon Enterprise Center home page, mouse over the Repairs mega menu and then click Initiate Test in the Initiate & View Tests section.

  3. Enter the service ID.

  4. Select the state from the drop-down menu and click Next.

  6. Select the Extended Ping radio button. Additional fields display.
    Select the Patterns to run. Select All Ones to test full voltage and to see if repeater is failing. Select All Zeroes to test for optioning (AMI/B8ZS). Select Alternating to alternate between the two. Select Standard Data for 0x5555.

  7. Select the Data Size (size of the packet).

  8. Enter the applicable Repeat Count (how often the pattern repeats).

  1. To receive e-mail notifications, select the Notification check box.

  2. Select the Issue Type from the drop-down menu. The options available are:

  4. Click Submit.
