Overview

Alaska Regional MAN Service (ARMS) is a specific Federal Networx service that combines the flexibility, features and benefits provided by an Ethernet Access and Ethernet Broadband transport to allow Agencies to interconnect their LANs seamlessly over the Metro Area Networks (MAN) or the Wide Area Networks (WAN) regardless of the geographical location of their sites.

Benefits

Our Alaska Regional MAN Service provides an Ethernet interface(s) to the end user and will enable Intra- and Extranet services.

Features

The flexibility of the design and service is provided by utilizing robust network architecture of Highspeed Layer2 and Layer3 devices that offer the ability to transport Ethernet traffic between intra-city metropolitan locations and inter-city locations within Alaska. The largest regional service area has a fully distributed, fault tolerant network which provides the highest level of availability and performance offered by any provider in the state. Additional resiliency is provided by establishing multiple routes and dual GigE links connecting the core components. In smaller regions, the network has a carrier class switching architecture.
