Customer Specific Design and Engineering Services
Customer Specific Design and Engineering Services (CSDES) enable our customers to use Verizon expertise and resources to meet their specific business requirements and objectives. For customers who need our technical support, we provide analysis, design, implementation and testing of network equipment and applications.
- Proven Architectural Design Processes. Verizon has chosen Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC), a leading vendor of technical support services, to provide CSDES. Working together with CSC, Verizon has formulated, documented and field tested architectural design processes that are continually improving based on global lessons learned. These processes enable Verizon to provide project planning, analysis, development, operational support, and management for customers.
Verizon CSDES offers a variety of features that help customers meet their business needs and objectives, including:
- CatalystSM. Catalyst is a methodology for providing solutions to business problems and meeting ongoing customer needs. A set of principles and unique organizing concepts guide its field-tested processes, techniques, roles, and work products. Verizon uses Catalyst to provide project planning, analysis, development, operational support, and management for customers. This methodology reflects new and evolving business and technology best practices, and captures that experience in a variety of documents and templates known as knowledge assets. These knowledge assets are available in electronic printed form that anyone applying the Catalyst methodology can use.
- Enterprise Network Managed Service Center of Excellence (ENMS-CoE). Today, networked IT infrastructures are becoming increasingly complex, and new technology is being implemented rapidly. Because of these trends, customers need enhanced network management services and improved end-to-end service level management. The ENMS-CoE offers a flexible solution framework that provides customers with the knowledge and solutions they need to successfully manage enterprise network and telecommunications technology in support of diverse needs. Each CoE provides advice, testing, development, and network services design driven by the expertise of over 5,300 network engineers throughout Verizon global operations.
- Custom Designed Technical Support. Verizon provides technical support for analysis, design, implementation, and testing of networks and related Verizon-provisioned equipment. Engineers at regionally diverse CoEs use proven strategies for network architecture, design, and implementation. Verizon's vast experience means that Verizon can provide options for customizing network technologies; engineers will test new solutions on the live network and then proceed with final implementation and support measures.
- Network Management Operations Center (NMOC) and Global Management Center (GMC). Verizon's NMOC and GMC are available for customers who need support with managed services, off-site centralized operations, contact center services, facility and pilot implementation of enterprise operation services. The Verizon CSDES solutions employ ISO 9000/1-certified facilities and processes for standards-based implementations. Through these facilities, the NMOC and GMC, Verizon supports over one million LAN, 48,000 WAN, and over 700,000 voice ports for its customers.
